Hands of Love Orphanage & School

Hands of Love Orphanage & School’, Uganda is home for over 300 children age 3 to 19 years, from variety of backgrounds and of faiths.

It was established in 2005 by Pastor Elijah Sebuchu and his wife Ruth. They realised that a lot of help and resources come into Uganda from the developed world, but often it doesn’t reach the rural areas, where poverty is worst.

So, when 5 acres of land was donated in the rural Mayuge district (144km from Kampala city) the vision for Hands of Love Orphanage and School began.

However the Mayuge district is very poor.

Even the poor of Uganda say it is poor!

It is extremely difficult to get transport to the site, which is one of the reasons that the area has received so little help.

Elijah & Ruth have a difficult district to work in, but these are the very places that need the most help.

‘Hands of Love’ receives no support from the Ugandan Government, relying entirely on volunteers, donations and sponsorship programs.

In fact all of the staff are volunteers and receive no salary for their work at Hands of Love -

Many of them have no other means of support, some have given up salaried work to help at Hands of Love.
